(Waldron, AR) — Gun owners today confront issue when lawmakers enact some gun regulations that, while appearing advantageous, may unfortunately lead to unintended negative effects. Even though these laws often stem from good intentions, they can sometimes result in serious problems. Whether one supports or opposes these measures, it is crucial to maintain respectful conversations with our elected officials.

Kristain Thompson distinguishes himself as a candidate through his proactive efforts to gain a thorough understanding of firearm laws and other legislation impacting our district. His readiness to listen and inquire during numerous discussions reflects essential qualities for those holding public office. We take pride in welcoming him as a member of Gun Owners of Arkansas and are proud to endorse his candidacy.

In contrast, although Brent Montgomery is generally recognized as a supporter of the Second Amendment, we remain cautious in our approach to him due to limited interactions and his strong emphasis on NRA membership. This wariness is further intensified by the NRA’s decision to assign a B rating to our departing Representative Marcus Richmond, who has been genuinely committed to defending the Second Amendment like no other legislator. Gun Owners of Arkansas has been the leading organization in advancing gun rights in this state, including writing a constitutional amendment that further advances our natural rights and restricts liberal justices from manipulating that right.
